Hello

I’m Jim. I became fascinated with computers at the age of five when our family purchased a Tandy computer from Radio Shack. Thirty years ago, my Uncle introduced me to QBasic via the ‘gorillas’ game and I’ve been hooked on programming ever since. When I was in high school I got into Macromedia flash and inadvertently started my career as a web developer. I’ve spent the last 25 years building and launching SaaS and mobile products in the private and public sectors. Today I am co-founder and CTO of eDNA Explorer, a bio-informatics platform automating the interpretation of environmental DNA research.

This blog exists as an outlet to start writing again. Writing has been an old habit that I had sadly let go of about 10 years ago. Today my focus lies in leadership, coding, and business.

If I’m not behind a book or a screen you can find me spending time with my family. If I’m not with them — I’m off somewhere riding a bicycle.
